Geez, Rich, spare us the melodrama.  Harassment comes with the territory of
"fame," even small time fame.  While it may be illegal and it's definitely
annoying, you opened the doors for destructive criticism with your own diatribe
of the RPI Band on a DL that is read all over the planet.   (oh, heavens,
talking about the band is how i got started on hockey-L  :-)  If you step into
the spotlight, you make yourself all the easier a target for tomatoes.  or
oranges.  ;-)
 
if you'd presented a more constructive criticism of the band (e.g. the
desperate need for more horns and more organization), and didn't spend so much
time applauding your own merits as a fan, maybe people wouldn't find you so
hard to deal with.  You're a good guy in real life, but your net image is a
little rough around the edges.
 
and IMO, "Gospel John" still sounds _great._ (had to sneak that in.)  :-)
