Here is that article I was talking about in my posting yesterday. It was found
in the "Cheers" And "Jeers" section of _The _Hockey _News for the week of
December 7, 1990. In the jeers section needless to say........
The NCAA: The governing body for US college sports has proposed cost
cutting that would see ice hockey lumped into the same category as field hockey
and lacrosse. Among other things, it would mean cuts to coaching staffs,
scholarships and schedules. Should the amendment pass at the NCAA's annual
convention in Nashville Jan 7-11, the death of some of the smaller hockey
programs would inevitably follow.
Beautiful, eh?
