The US Pond Hockey Championships were last week when it sounded like it was stinkin' cold 
in Minnesota at something like 20 below overnight.  This was some pre-tournament

The winning team from White Bear Lake (Minnesota) had players who played at UW-River 
Falls.  The summary report is at:http://www.uspondhockey.com/news_article/show/76135 .  It 
looks like there is a boot hockey division which might be more my speed these days.

What you might like watching even more is a documentary movie that is around the US Pond 
Hockey Championships but also gets into the state of hockey.  It was released in 2008.
