The ESPN-U announcers for the Vermont-Wisconsin game were talking
about rink size, particulary as it related to how the two teams
played. That led me to wonder about the distribution of rink sizes
in college hockey. Based on what I found, it seems that WCHA teams
are indeed more used to playing on international-sized sheets. (An
international sheet is defined as 30 meters wide, so it's actually
just a hair less than 100 feet. Wisconsin's sheet is the closest to
this in size.)
