The decision to move the tournament is all about the money.  ECAC Hockey
puts hosting the tournament out to bid, and the people who run the arena
in Atlantic City made the league too good an offer to pass up. I
understand that includes guaranteeing the league will make a minimum
amount of money at each event.

So the bottom line is: it sucks for the fans but is good for the league.
