I'm about four years late with this, but I recently got Wayne Coffey's _The
Boys of Winter_, and if you have any interest in the 1980 US Olympic men's
hockey team, this book is an absolute must. It's pretty much a
minute-by-minute account of the semifinal game against the USSR, but it's
interspersed with background on the American players and coaches that make
for fascinating reading. It might be hard to believe there could still be
an "untold story", as the book's subtitle says, about the 1980 hockey team,
but this book is filled with them. After reading this book, I really felt
like I had gotten to know the players and coaches much better than I had
before. A terrific read.
