Union gets back on the winning side with a 6-2 victory over Princeton
tonight in Schenectady. Kris Goodjohn scored Union's first two goals
and Nathan Gillies returned from his 1-game suspension by scoring 2
goals.

Princeton began the scoring with a power play goal midway through the
first, but Union responded with Goodjohn's two goals to end the first up
2-1. Union opened the second period with a 5-on-3 power play. During
that advantage, Princeton was called for a delay of game penalty (clearing
the puck over the boards), which resulted in an additional 2:00 of 5-on-3.
After what seemed like forever (and an apparent goal waved off), the
Dutchmen finally got one past Tiger goalie Nate Nomeland for a 3-1 lead.

Union put the game away in the third period with three goals. Nathan Gillies
scored less than 2 minutes in. Princeton responded with a power play goal
of their own, making it 4-2 with under 6 minutes remaining, but the Dutchmen
scored less than 20 seconds later to thwart any hope of a Princeton comeback.

The flow of the game slowed down through the 2nd & 3rd periods, as a few
more penalties were called by referee Tim Kotyra and a lot of the game was
fought along the boards. Neither team was really able to get a rhythm going
due to the tight-checking play. Next week, Union heads out to central New
York to play Colgate and Cornell, while Princeton travels to the Great White
Cold North to play Clarkson and St. Lawrence.

Union remains in a 3-way tie for 4th place in the ECAC with Dartmouth and
Brown, who had wins over Clarkson and Colgate, respectively.
