Brian,
I saw last nights game and numerous ECAC and a few Hockey East games this
year and would agree in general officiating is not at its best. The main
problem in inconsistency among officials and the whole "even it up" syndrome
that seems to be so prevalent in the ECAC. What I look for in an official
is one who does not lose control of the game and keeps it fair, once they
start to lose control of the game, then players on both sides normally will
push the envelope further and further until a situation baisically like we
saw last night with the tripping in OT, it was something that just simply
had to be called, however what wasn't called leading up to that were two
trippings planted by Minnesota's goalie on Maine players down by the net,
those should have been called but were not leading to a center ice incident
that he called.

I would like to see major improvement.

Steve
