However one thing that has been shown year in and year out is that the
Beanpot is a strong TV broadcast on a relatively week TV night (Monday).
 
Given the time requirements for the broadcast none of the local network
affiliates can pick it up -- and nowadays that includes those UPN, WB and
FOX stations, which leaves very few that can actually bid to show it live.
 
That's one of the biggest reasons that 68 was able to win Red Sox a couple
years ago.
 
 
I'd count on the beanpot remaining on 68. The station may be sold but most
of the employees will remain, they've all got beanpot experience and know
the tradition.
