They did not have the numbers when stacked against the rest of the field.
Given the way the other tournys finished out, Colgate/Princeton/RPI
would have had to win the ECAC to make the tourny.
Remember what the PWR's and PWC's were showing before last weekend.
Michigan was a bubble, the ECAC 3 were a bubble and ND was a (supposed)
bubble.
WCHA had 2 in the NCAA's and 1 probable, CCHA had the same, HEA had 3 and
the ECAC had 2. We're talking 11 out of 12 teams without considering the
possible MAAC entry.
If Michigan had gone out the 1st night, then it would have been an
interesting comparison. But as it was, the bids are an accurate
reflection of who belongs in.
I wonder if they did an RPI comparison on the ECAC vs CCHA/WCHA/HEA to
decide the 12th team?
