I have to agree with Clair Chesley. In my case, I live an hour away, have
limited disposable income because I'm now semi-retired and with my
part-time work schedule (three jobs), cannot make plans in advance to
attend a game. I could have gone today (Friday) but didn't know that until
about noontime. I have been a member of FOMC for several years, through
thick and thin, supporting the team AND its coach. I spent 20 years in
radio and eight in TV calling games, and 12 years as a sports writer. I
could take advantage of that but if I do, some other fan doesn't get in. So
I don't do that. I pay my way in. I do support the new student/band seating
arrangement. I think it's great.
The previous ticket policy snubbed its nose at people like me. This new
policy is even worse. You don't want Joe Average Fan attended the games.
He/she only comes a half-dozen times a year and we don't want you. We want
the big spenders. Like those who have written here about being in favor of
the present ticket policy. And those who take advantage of their position.
For these, and other reasons, I dropped my membership to FOMC.
