Interesting post on USCHO that this tournament is MSG's and not the
leagues', and that MSG switched it to Hartford to make room for a Billy
Joel concert. (MSG runs the Hartford Civic Center, although it does not
actually own it.)
So this would be ... MSG taking the lead promoting college hockey in
Hartford, not necessarily the leagues or the schools. Very interesting,
and perhaps somewhat farsighted? I sincerely hope they do a good job of
promoting it. Since MSG has made most of the right moves in Hartford so
far, I think they probably will do what is required.
Btw, the land of steady habits does have rail, bus, and air service for
those of you who were complaining about the inconvenience:-):-) They've
even successfully hosted an NC$$ B-ball regional or two at the Civic
Center.
