I have to disagree with a few points that have been mentioned. One was
that BU's power play has been ineffective. When they went on their first
PP of the game a graphic was put up that had them clicking 25 percent of
the time, 20 goals on 80 chances. I'd say that is pretty good. I think
anything over 20 percent is good. Anyone have any idea what the averages
are? As for their offense being the weak point, that may be true, but only
because defense and goaltending are so strong. I do think this bodes well
for playoff time. When the games get tight, you win from the goal out.
There isn't much dispute that they have one of the best goaltending tandems
in the country (if not the best), and the defense corp is right up there as
well. They also have one of the top lines in the country. Drury with
anyone makes for a top line. Throw in a very underrated player in Sylvia
and you have a great line. I think the one thing they will need is for a
couple of the younger players to take the heat off the big guns. If that
happens, look out. If you look at the games where they scored a lot of
goals you will see a lot of unfamiliar names on the scoresheet. On Tuesday
all the names were from the top line and as a result they didn't put up a
big score.

As for the officiating, I thought it was pretty good. Benedetto did let a
few things go that surprised me. However, the no call on the Powers semi
break away was the right call. If you see the replay you will notice that
the man from behind (forgot who it was) didn't get his stick on the body
all that much. He was mostly hooking Powers' stick, nothing wrong with
that. Poti did take him down with a trip, but after swiping the puck away.
That's perfectly legal. As long as you get the puck first, they almost
never call the trip. I don't know for sure in college, but I am reasonable
certain that is an actual rule in the NHL. In real time it was hard to
tell, but on replay it was clear that Poti got the puck first. I think
this was a great no call and it would have been much easier for the ref to
call this rather than let it go.

As for Bartlett, I don't see how multiple punches is facemasking.
Apparently he doesn't get a DQ (only 15 yards I guess) since someone
mentioned that he was called for the same thing on Sunday and he was right
back in there Tuesday.
