09-30-97 Harvard's MacDonald Joins Canadian Nationals
Craig MacDonald, a junior forward on the Harvard Crimson from Antigonish,
Nova Scotia, has left the team to accept a one-year stint with the
Canadian National Team.
MacDonald, a fourth-round pick of the Carolina Hurricanes in 1996, tied
for third in Harvard scoring last season with six goals and 10 assists.
After his term with the national team, MacDonald will return to Harvard to
continue his schooling and to play on the hockey team.
"Craig is going to be a loss for us," said Harvard head coach Ronn
Tomassoni. "But it will be a good chance for him to learn, and after one
year when he comes back, hopefully it will only benefit us."
