This is allowable under NCAA rules, since the player is still in high
school.  There are conditions, however:  1) only one such visit is
allowed for each team; 2) the visit cannot exceed 48 hours; and 3)
compensation to the player is not in excess of actual and necessary
expenses.  Additionally, the player may not participate in any
outside competition as a part of the professional team during the
tryout.
 
Note that these rules apply only if the player has not yet enrolled
at a college.  Once he becomes a collegiate student-athlete, a host
of additional regulations and restrictions come into effect.
