In a game that just under 3,000 fans saw Friday night in Cheel Arena, the
Clarkson University Golden Knights defeated the Princeton Tigers by a
final score of 4-1.
Clarkson started out the scoring with a powerplay goal in the first period
scored by team leader junior Todd White (his 21st). That goal came
fairly early in the first period and the teams just killed time thereafter
to end in a 1-0 at the end of one. The second period saw CU again come
out and score the powerplay and game-winning goal by Dana Mulvihill. Todd
White added another one, with Princeton's Casson Masters squeezing one in
between the two CU goals to make it 3-1 at the end of two. Finally, in the
third period CU's Steve Palmer added his 11th goal of the season to make the
final a 4-1 victory. Overall, the game was very slow and not really exciting.
Other notes: Clarkson's Kevin Murphy assisted on each Clarkson goal friday
night giving him 92 career points. Also, CU was 3/5 on the powerplay, while
Princeton was 0/7. Saves included 28 for Konte (PR) and 26 for Murphy (CU).
