Janney was indeed a BC Eagle. He led Hockey East in scoring in 1986-87,
his sophomore year. 8 of the HE top 10 scorers from that year are playing
key roles on their NHL clubs: Janney, Kevin Stevens, Ken Hodge, John Cullen,
Tim Sweeney, Brian Leetch, Jon Morris, and Dave Capuano.
Janney's 74 points in league play (83 overall) are a HE record.
I was feeling nostalgic and had written a reply about that 1986-87 BC team
being one of the best ever, and about how the youngsters like Janney,
Leetch, & Stevens played like men in leading BC to a 31-8 record in a year
when they played 100% of their games on the road while waiting for Conte
Forum to be built. But as I was finishing, the LAN went down and took
my reply with it. Actually, I guess I've said most of it in the previous
two paragraphs anyway.
