Since everyone has been posting their school's post-season awards,
I figured I ought to do the same for Cornell. The Cornell Hockey
Boosters Association's 30th annual banquet was held last night
(Saturday, April 20), and the following awards were presented:

The Bill Doran Sportsmanship Award, to the varsity player combining
best all of the attributes that mean sportsmanship, both on and off
the ice, as well as being an excellent, competitive player, to
senior defenseman Bruce Frauley.

The Wendell Earle Memorial Award, to the varsity team member who
has captured the spirit of college athletics and personifies the true
meaning of "Student-Athlete." He has combined all the necessary
attributes to achieve excellence in both hockey and academics. To
senior forward Trent Andison.

The Joe DeLibero-Stan Tsapis Memorial Award, to the varsity player
who most nearly exemplifies the skilled efficiency, unselfish
dedication, and hard-nosed competitive application that clearly
distinguishes himself as a representative of Joe's and Stan's
uniqueness. To junior defenseman Dan Ratushny.

The Sam Woodside Hockey Award, to the senior hockey player who has
most improved in overall playing ability during his career, to
senior goalie Jim Crozier.

The Cornell Hockey Boosters Award, to the player whose contribution
is not apparent in box scores. His efforts are more clearly measured
in enthusiasm, dedication, desire and unselfish willingness to give
to the team an extra ounce of energy. To junior forward Stephane
Gauvin.

The Mark Weiss Memorial Award, to the player who most exemplified from
his rookie season through his senior year the determination and
passion this outstanding young athlete had for life and the sport
of hockey, to senior goalie Corrie D'Alessio.

The Crimson Cup (formally the Alan Brown Award) to the outstanding
player during the season series with the Crimson of Harvard, to senior
defenseman Tim Vanini.

The Iron Man Award, to the team member who, in spite of being bruised,
broken, spliced, sliced or otherwise hurt, most demonstrates the
will and determination to overcome his injuries and contribute to
the team, to senior defenseman Tim Vanini and senior forward Doug
Derraugh.

The Gun Hill Player of the Year, awarded based on points given
for caliber of play during each game throughout the season, to
senior forward Trent Andison.

The Nicky Bawlf Award, to honor the Most Valuable Player as determined
by the vote of his teammates, to senior forward Doug Derraugh.
