As I understand it (from media reports) the Wisconsin players chose to practice
after the St. Cloud game Saturday only after a lengthy teem meeting during
which the coaches left. The coaches (they say) neither proposed nor endorsed
the practice session, it was the co-captains' idea. The players did not wear
their uniforms (I have no idea if that's part of the rule or not). To me, this
is not a violation of NCAA rules.

I think it was a good idea, and hopefully will serve as a reality check for
Wisconsin. Saturday's Badger performance was truly pathetic...so much so that
WIBA announcers Paul Braun and Bill Howard awarded their "Budweiser Player of
the Game" to the Wisconsin trainer.

Our paper reported last night that UAF is now soliciting North Dakota State to
join the WCHA with them. (They want a partner to keep an even number of teams
in the league.) Mankato State has apparently backed out (or been rejected).
