And let's not forget the new Governor's Cup tournament, matching
the state
        schools from VT (UVM), NH (UNH), ME (Maine), & MA
(UMass-Lowell).  It will
        be held this year 11/27-11/28 at UML's Tsongas Arena.  Since
it's only a
        few years old, I don't know if this tourny qualifies as a high
profile
        event yet, but like Jim said "tradition takes time to
establish".
 
 
        From what I have heard around the UNH program this is the last
year for this tournament.  It has been played at each of the schools
home rinks once and the Hockey East schools want to play more
non-conference teams in their schedule.  Personally I would like to see
this tournament end because it contains all Eastern teams that play each
other anyway and it doesn't have the same geographical significance of
the Beanpot.
