Everyone seems to been predicting that the ECAC will get only its two automatic
bids. Although this could end up being the case, I don't see why people are so
sure of it.

1) Clarkson is the only team that is virtually assured of a bid, whether by
taking the regular season, or being shined on favorably by the RPI

2) Brown is still in the running for the regular season title

3) No one can predict the tourny, and as far as the ECAC goes, the winner could
be almost anyone...NOT JUST Clarkson or Brown.

That *could* be and easy three bids right there.
Now for the longshot:

4) Looking at the RPICH posted today, a number of ECAC teams are clinging just
below the 12th spot...There is still a weekend left, and some interesting
things are bound to happen.

I think what people should be saying is that the ECAC could end up with only
two bids, but to be so dismissive of the ECAC when so much is still open (even
though there is only one week left) would be an oversight.
