Bill Howard (goalies coach for Wisconsin and the radio
color man for the hockey team-IMHO the best in the world
at both positions) played his college goaltending for CC.
He told a story during a lull in the play of a WI game
about three years ago on how he scored his only career
goal.

It seems a delayed penalty was called and instead of leaving
for the extra attacker, he stayed on the ice and joined in.
Apparently, back then (I assume late '50s- but I could be wrong)
that was how it was played.

Obviously, its not done that way anymore. Is it a rule change,
prohibitting goalies from crashing the offensive zone or just
common sense? Howie made it sound like it was a rule change.
Can any of the "old timers" (or historians-no disrespect intended)
give the lo-down?
