what's the deal with michigan giving up more than 20 shots on goal?  as
long as i can remember (about 20 minutes in most cases) they would give up
17, maybe 18;  but 27 or 30 shots on goal was unheard of.
 
i like to see steve shields stepping up, too.  in the past i've always
thought he looked weak in goal, even though he had the great stats.  the
last couple of years, he's had an excellent defense in front of him.
 
being away from michigan, i know only what i read here.  is shields
finally playing up to his stats?  is michigan's defense weakening?  how
does michigan stand to win the ccha playoff championship, and, more
importantly, the ncaa championship?  i know they've been #1 all year, but
traditionally national ranking and record have meant little when we got to
the playoffs (at least the last few years).
