     One aspect that has not been mentioned in the anecdotal comments about
the positive references back to the colleges/universitys of NHL players is
that Gary Thorne is now doing a lot of the games for ESPN & ABC I believe.
As many know, he is from Old Town Maine, educated & trained as a lawyer,
and (I think) was able to work with one of the announcers in Washington,
D.C. with the Caps while in law school.  He did the radio games for the
University of Maine for many years, and I remember his comments from years
back concerning his "love" of the booth.  I enjoy his calling of the games
and would suggest much of the credit for references to college hockey
should be to Gary (we have never met but I feel we have).  Those interested
in promoting college hockey, etc. to the national audience might want to
write Gary directly and thank him for his support!
