BOSTON (AP) -- Dennis McCauley scored with just 1:35 to play and Adam
Geragosian made 37 saves as Northeastern pulled off a 2-1 upset of
Providence on Thursday night.
The Huskies, in ninth place in the 10-team Hockey East, won just their third
game of the season.
The Friars are jockeying for position near the top of the league.
The teams went scoreless the first two periods before Jon Rheault gave the
Friars (15-10-2, 12-8-2) the lead with a power-play goal at 12:29 of the
third.
Northeastern (3-20-6, 3-13-6) tied it when Joe Vitale scored a short-handed
goal just 1:32 later.
Providence outshot the Huskies 38-26 in the game, including 13-11 in the
third.
