Athletics (why bother limiting it to NCAA Div I) at universities as a
business is then one of the worst run businesses around.  How could you
tolerate so many "product lines" permanently bleeding money with no
hope of ever making money?  You would shut them done and focus on
the ones that make money.  If they don't exist for making money, then
what do they exist for?  And in the case of sports that make money for
some universities but don't for others, why do the latter stay in business?
