This is a good point, since there is, or was recently, a problem with
football players (at the college and pro and probably other levels)
tackling with the crowns of their helmets, thereby inflicting nasty
spearing hits on the opposition and more serious neck injuries on
themselves.  As far as I know, no serious suggestions were made to
remedy the problem by getting rid of helmets.
