John Whelan writes "If they really wanted this thing to fly,
attendance-wise, I'd have looked for the inclusion of a Cornell,
Vermont, Clarkson, BU, BC, or even Harvard."

I do not mean to defend the powers that be, but be careful here because
you cannot imply from a decision that is made, what the choices were.
Maybe Cornell, Vermont, Clarkson, BU, BC, or even Harvard were asked to
play and said no. Though UNH, Maine, RPI and Colgate are the teams, it
doesn't mean they were ranked highest by the tournament organizers. If
you are to chastize someone, maybe it should be Cornell, Vermont,
Clarkson, BU, BC, and Harvard for turning down such a golden
opportunity.
