I have a great deal of respect for Steve Klein and his post saying that
what Miami did was taunting leads me to believe one thing -- that the
chipping away of the ice was done "in the face" of Michigan State players
after the game with a, "Ha, we came in here and beat you twice, take that"
attitude.

If the Miami players were getting their ice chippings in a corner of the
rink while the teams were leaving after the games for the lockerrooms,
that's an entirely different issue.

Withouth seeing the incident live, it's hard to tell if there was taunting
involved or not. I am a believer that Miami's ice chipping tradition, as
long as it not permanently damaging to the ice surface, is fine if it's not
done in a taunting or baiting way.
