AP reported yesterday that OSU and the city of
Columbus have given on a plan to work together
to make a super-sports-complex for them to share.
 
Instead, OSU is going ahead with plans of its own.
Included in the proposed complex is a new ice
arena facility!! This might be done by '98.
 
So, if the skating Buckeyes can hang on and stay
varsity for a few more years, then it looks
like they will have a decent place to play, finally.
 
Note that there is talk EVERY YEAR of building a new
barn down there, but this is by far to farthest
they have gone to actually making it happen. Since
the ice facility will be linked with a new roundball
court and stuff for other sports, it might really
come into existence.
