Seen on another message board:

CCHA ref *Steve Piotrowski* is retiring from on-ice officiating to 
become the CCHA's director of officials effective immediately.

Sad day, I have always thought he was the best referee I've ever seen.  
Maybe he will teach all the refs in the CCHA how he became so effective. 
(I wish we had a great ref like Steve, running the WCHA!)
