With a few college hockey players at the World Championship games, which
goes into the second round tomorrow, I thought folks might like this snippet
and link to an interview with Erik Johnson of the Gophers. Bob Hamilton

>>To say the least, Erik Johnson has a bright future ahead of him. Drafted
number one overall in 2006 by the St. Louis Blues, Johnson will be an
essential member of his NHL team, and perhaps a future captain. Already,
he's had an impact internationally. In 2005, Johnson helped Team USA win a
U18 gold medal, and he was the team's leading scorer at the last U20 World
Championship. The 19-year-old Bloomington, Minnesota native signed with the
Blues this month and will attend training camp in the fall. There is a
strong possibility that he will make the team and suit up for 2007-08.
Meanwhile, IHWC.NET's John Sanful caught up with Johnson to discuss his
debut at the 2007 IIHF World Championship.
