UNO will not have a live band this year, due to financial disagreements
between the athletic dept. and the music dept. Apparently last year the
athletic dept. paid 1/4th of hte total cost for hte band, and sponsers paid
the rest. The music dept wanted more money from the athletic dept. this
year, and they wouldn't give it to em. So anyway, UNO will now go fully
piped in music instead of 1/2 and 1/2.

Student tickets are again disappointing, but not surprising (at least to me,
since UNO is more of a commuter university with plenty of adult students).
About 1/2 of the 500 student tickets are sold, ranging from 300 sold for the
season opener next friday against Maine to only 175 for the RIT series in
mid december. Students could make their own ticket packages. All unsold
tickets will be offered to the general public.

UNO forward and Assistant Captain Derek Reynolds has an undisclosed medical
problem. He was to undergo tests today or tomorrow. Head Coach Mike Kemp is
supposed to give a full report later this week.

UNO's season opener is October 16th against Maine at 7:35 Central. They'll
meet again on the 17th. Hopefully UNO will escape with a win in one of the 2
games (season opener would be nice since I have tickets to that one), but
I'm not counting on it, especially if Reynolds is out already.
