Wyatt Smith of the Minnesota Gophers scored two goals as the Western
Collegiate Hockey Association all-stars held on for a 3-3 tie against
the Krefeld Penguins in the Kolin Cup tournament at Zug, Switzerland.
 
Doug Teskey of Alaska Anchorage and David Weninger of Michigan Tech
combined for 41 saves for the American college players, who lost to
Adler Mannheim 7-5 on Friday and host team EV Zug 6-5 on Saturday.
 
Smith and Adam Calder of North Dakota scored in the first period, and
Smith's goal 2:19 into the second period gave the WCHA a 3-0 lead.
