Penn State and Illinois have top-level ACHA programs. I think Penn State
won the ACHA Division I championship this year. Illinois actually has
two teams, one competes on the ACHA I level and the other on the ACHA
II level. Indiana is one of the better ACHA II teams in the country.
Northwestern has or had an ACHA Division I team. Someone at one
of the smaller NCAA DIII Wisconsin schools told me he thought
Northwestern's team had disbanded midway through this past season.
As for Purdue and Iowa, there are teams there, but both appear to
play on a very lesser level.
