An RPI player got called for a 10 minute misconduct, while slightly later
a Cornell player got whistled for a 5 minute charging major. Obviously,
the 5 min major left Cornell with one less man for 5 mins, while the 10
min penalty did not effect the RPI manpower on the ice.
My question is what is the difference between a 5 and a 10 to the
referee? As a team, a 5 min major would hurt more than the 10.
