What!?  If you are correct that the whistle blew before the goal was
scored, then it should not have counted.  As a result, UMD certainly
does have something to complain about, and Minnesota could not cry
foul if the game ended a tie or they lost, other than to say that the
whistle shouldn't have been blown because it was done so incorrectly.
 
It doesn't matter what impact the whistle might have had on the play
either...the determining factor is whether it blew before the puck
went in the net.
