The Watertown Daily Times reported that former Clarkson player
and current Olympian Todd Marchant has NOT yet signed a contract
with the New York Rangers. Reports published Monday said that a
family member of Marchant had confirmed the signing however Todd's
father, Peter, said that there has been no formal signing of a contract;
although he said he wasn't sure if there had been a verbal agreement.
"He is still in the process of negotiating, he has not signed...He's
probably very close at this point but he hasn't made any official decision."
The Potsdam (actually, I think it's based out of Ogdensburg) Courier-
Observer reported yesterday that Marchant, who recently returned home
from Atlanta where he watched his Buffalo Bills lose a 4th straight
Super Bowl, had signed with the Rangers. That report was apparently
a bit pre-mature.
