I am new to this bulletin board and usually just read and follow along. I am
signed up for a class that I am taking: The History of Sports in America. I do
have an opion on the topic of Olympic Hockey.

I do agree that the break in the NHL schedule would disrupt the season, but I
also do not see a problem with letting Pro's play in the Olympics. My feeling
is that if they are from the United States they should be allowed to represent
us in the Olympics. I will agree that the Dream Team is a bit boring to watch
at times but the Olympics have progressed to the point where countries are not
out to have an exciting competion, they are out to win at any cost. Look at
the German athletes starting the steroid fad. They were risking person health
to WIN. Teams from other countries are sponsered by the government and
practice all year to have a good team for the Olympics. The players on these
teams are the best that their country has to offer. So what if our best are
paid to play in the U.S. I think that all of our pro's should represent us in
the Olympics.
