I watched most of the US-France game on CBC yesterday. CBC is doing a hell
of a better job than CBS is.  About the second US goal that was kicked on;
Ron McLean (he does Hockey Night in Canada for CBC) said that the goal
would be allowed in the Canadian hockey where McCorry reffed since it went
in off of the goalie. However, the announcers read the international rule
book which said that any intentionally kicked puck cannot score, regardless
of who it hits. Needless to say, I was glad that the US won by more than
one.

As for the extra activity after the game, CBC showed it all. It seemed that
the players on the ice, all 4, were congratulating themselves, when they
looked over and saw what was going on. I believe that it happened in front
of the penalty box. Ray LeBlanc was pulling US players back, including
Mike Dunham who got finally got his name on TV. As for the stick in the
crowd, I don't know if some fans grabbed onto a raised stick, or if he was
retalliating for something said or thrown. It was a pretty embarassing
situation. Dave Peterson said he would have liked to have gone out onto
the ice to pull players back, but international rules prohibit it.

The NC$$ must be licking their chops and firing up there lawyers. I heard
Tim McCarver and the TNT annoucer specifically say that Team USA was going
to the Final Four. Now the NC$$ can sue CBS and TNT for lots of money.

I guess I'll have to watch the US semi-final game on CBC. I hope that they
will be showing it since the game comes during the noon news hour.
