Jim Carey, who played goalie for the University of Wisconsin last year
was named NHL player of the month and NHL rookie of the month for March.
It's the first time ever that a player has gotten both awards in the same
month and it's the first time ever that a player has gotten NHL player of
the month for his first month in the NHL.
 
Yesterday, the Washington-Boston matchup featured Carey vs. Blaine Lacher
of LSSU.  Washington won 2-1. Both goaltenders played very well.
