John H at Michigan mentioned that Michigan has 7 division I hockey teams,
 
well, I think that New York is a close second, with 6:
 
RPI
Clarkson
St. Lawrence
Colgate
Union
Cornell
 
ah, wait, yes, I must not forget Army  (oops, typing before thinking).
 
I guess that makes 7 after all.  I would imagine Massachussetss (sp?)
is pretty far up there:
 
BU
BC
Merrimack
Lowell
Harvard
Mass-Amherst
Northeastern
 
By golly, Mass. has 7 also.
