From today's Minneapolis Star Tribune:

HOCKEY EAST
TEAM W-L-T POINTS
Maine 2-1-1 5
Merrimack 2-0-0 4
Lowell 2-1-0 4
N'eastern 2-0-0 4
Boston U. 1-1-1 3
Providence 1-2-0 2
Boston Col. 0-1-0 0
N.H'shire 0-2-0 0
UMASS 0-2-0 0

This is exactly the way it was reported, as far as names of schools and
points. Now, I don't know where this information is coming from, but
anybody who has been following along for the past couple of days (a week
or so) here knows that this of course is not correct. One thing I am
curious about is, in the East, do people refer to the UMASS schools as
Lowell and UMASS, or Lowell and Amherst, or what exactly? Also, don't
newspapers get these things from league offices, as a press release. If
that is the case (Which it probably isn't, since I know nothing about the
running of a newspaper, so don't flame me, all you aspiring journalists),
is Hockey East possibly still reporting the standings the old way?

Mike M., would it be possible for you to send me a copy of the HE
standings so I could forward them on to the Tribune in my e-mail tirades
that I will be sending to them? I will look in the archives as well, but
I haven't looked yet and I don't know if they are there, and if they
aren't I don't want to have to write another message.

Finally, I think the acronym above will be used frequently in my future
posts, in the context of "I really hate HIM", or "We should really do
something about HIM". Please feel free to use it yourselves.
