The NBA is the leader in marketing of sports teams and sports products.
They have found that while black was the "in" color, this is no longer
the case. Today the NBA has found new "fad" colors such as teal to be
currently the hot marketing item.
 
So perhaps Standford should mimick the same color as the San Jose
Sharks.
