I believe that is INCORRECT and Wayne was originally correct. In order for a
goal to be scored it must be put in by legal means, never AWARDED. Had the
puck
not gone in, I believe a penalty shot would have been awarded WITH the
goaltender allowed to return to the ice. Kenny Z can probably verify this.
However, a
few years ago in AHAUS rules a goal would have been awarded in this situation,
I am not sure, however, if this rule is still in place in AHAUS.
