In conjunction with the team banquet held this past Friday evening at
Wannamoisett Country Club in Rumford, Rhode Island, the following awards
were announced for the 2000-01 Brown hockey season:
The Charles A. Lanigan Trophy went to senior defenseman Chris Warrington
as the player who best represented the Brown hockey program both on and
off the ice;
The Patrick S. Jones Memorial Trophy was given to senior forward and
captain Jon Zielinski in recognition of his commitment, attitude and
leadership;
The Kevin R. Pope Memorial Trophy was shared by freshman goaltender Yann
Danis and freshman defenseman Scott Ford as co-rookies of the year;
The Class of 1936 Hockey Trophy, awarded to the team's most valuable
player, who through sportsmanship, performance and influence contributed
most to the sport at Brown, was bestowed on senior forward, Matt
Kohansky; and
The Charles A. Robinson, Jr. Hockey Trophy was earned by Chris
Warrington as the letterman who achieved the highest degree of academic
excellence over the first seven semesters.
