This is not entirely true. Alcohol is banned at all NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP
events. The NCAA allows beer at regular season events, at the school's
discretion. They sell beer at UNO hockey games, and I believe I've seen em
sell it at Husker football, Colorado football, Creighton basketball, etc.
The NCAA does ban it during tournies and playoffs though.
