Subject: Unvarnished Truth #10
Hello everyone! Welcome to the one-day-late Monday edition of "The
Unvarnished Truth". There were some surprises in the WCHA this past
weekend as North Dakota lost Friday at Northern Michigan and nearly lost
Saturday, but saved themselves with a 5 goal third period. Minnesota,
meanwhile, looked like Jeckle and Hyde, looking terrible in an 8-4 loss
to Duluth on Friday, and terrific in a 7-1 thrashing of the Bulldogs on
Saturday Night. Michigan Tech moved out of the cellar with a home sweep
of Anchorage. St. Cloud stayed in the league title picture with a home
sweep of Wisconsin. And CC and Denver split a home and away series.
LEAGUE RACE COULD END THIS WEEKEND.
North Dakota will clinch it's first MacNaughton Cup in 10 years if three
things happen: UND sweeps Alaska-Anchorage at home, CC and Minnesota
split, and St. Cloud and Duluth split.
NEW AND IMPROVED UNVARNISHED TRUTH WCHA POLL!!!
Last week I asked if anyone would want to become a full time voter in the
"Unvarnished Truth" WCHA Poll. Well, 12 of you responded and 9 of them
are now pollsters in the Poll. I am confident that they will do a good
and unbiased job of ranking the teams each week until the end of the
regular season. So, without any further delay, here is the first-ever
multivoter "Unvarnished Truth" WCHA Poll. Enjoy!!!
UNVARNISHED TRUTH WCHA POLL (2/18/97)

There wasn't as much change in the poll with multiple voters as I thought
there would be. Most teams didn't drop or rise all that much. Good job
to all pollsters!!!
Well, that's all for today. Tommorrow, my weekend previews, and the
USCHO Poll. Until then, see you later.
