That's exactly what they did.

UMass was getting pretty frustrated.  They took a slashing -- then, on the
delayed penalty, a UMass player battled axed J.P. O'Connor so there were two
penalties at once. Princeton scored three seconds into the penalty - then UMass
took another penalty right after, so it was back to 5-on-3.  During that, UMass
was called for Too Many Men on the Ice -- and so it was 5-on-3 for just about
the rest of the game.
 
> Attendance was over 3,000. Is this typical?
 
I don't know who was counting.  Obviously this was tickets sold.  There were
MAYBE 1,000 people there.
