Tim Hartje used to play at Air Force, coached there, and is now
stationed in alaska.  I frequently saw his name as a linesman at CCHA
games there.  Now I see his name as an assistant referee.
 
We have inherited a Dan Carey as an assistant referee, and I understand
he won a letter at West point.
 
Jeff Lundgren, a former CC player used to be a linesman.
 
I also understand that Buzzy Christensen was an all american during
his college days.
 
There are two obvious questions to ask:
1) Does having been a player make any difference in officiating?
2) How many DI officials are former DI players?
